Do it yourself wood floor installation

Hardwood  flooring is is easy to do on your own, and i am going to tell you how.

Step 1. Find the appropriate type of flooring for your home.

- If you're on a concrete slab, you can either float your flooring or you can glue it down directly to the subfloor.

- If you are lucky enough to find yourself on a wood subfloor you can lay any type of flooring you want.

step 2. Remove the existing flooring, and make sure to clean the subfloor of any loose debris.

step 3. open a box, or two, or three and look at the pieces. This is called racking out your material, it allows you to chose the right pieces, so that yo do end up with all long pieces in one row, all short pieces in another. And it lets you mix the colors accordingly, so that everything remains totally aesthetic.

Step 4. Make sure your room is square. Use a chalk line to do this and never rely on your drywall.

Step 5. Face nail your first row down against the longest wall. Make sure to leave a 1/2" gap around all 4 sides of the room.

step 6. Begin laying your next row, make sure the edges of the boards are at least 6 inches from the edges of the other row, this will give you the best look.  while installing you will want to set the nail or staple approximately every 6 to 10 inches.

step 7. Enjoy your sexy new floor from Wholesale Woodfloor Warehouse
